The SHS Counselor and Academic Advisor will be hosting an informational Parent Meeting on January 14 from 5:30 to 6:00 PM in the Smithville High School Library.
During the meeting, we will discuss course options, study paths, CCMR, and other important high school information. We invite you to join us and look forward to a great discussion!
A quick reminder that all students return to class tomorrow, January 7th! We look forward to welcoming them all back for a great 2nd half of the school year! 🏫📚

Our 7th and 8th grade students learned some amazing first aid skills this week. Staff from Ally Medical came to take the students through Stop the Bleed training and gave them a chance at some hands-on training!
The Directors and Consultants of the Smithville Music Program would like to thank everyone for putting in so much hard work to make our music students so successful this Fall Semester! We appreciate all the time and effort it takes to make what we do possible. Thank you!!

Hey JH Band! Letting everyone know that the JH Band Hall will be open tomorrow at 8:00am and will close up at 7:30 pm. The Band Hall will be open to students if they were not able to pick up instruments today. Feel free to email or send a message over Rooms to Mr. Baker.

Don't forget that this Thursday, December 19th, is the last day of school before the Winter Break. Friday, December 20th, is a staff workday.
Staff will return to school on Monday, January 6th, and students will return on Tuesday, January 7th.

This last Saturday the Smthville Junior High Band took part in the ATSSB All Region Band Audition. Our students competed against musicans from 27 other schools (almost 800 middle school studenst) to earn a spot in an All Region Band! We had 12 students win a spot in a band and 2 earned an alternate spot!
They will be performing at the Bastrop Performing Arts Center on January 25th with the other fantastic music students from the Region. Lets congradulate these students on an amazing achievement!

Dax Fruedensprung earning 1st chair Tuba player in the Region!
Jacob Olivares for coming in 6th out of 100 flutes in the Region!
Let the SHS Robotics Team wrap your presents for you, and enjoy a quick meal from the Band when you drop off!

The Junior High Boys Basketball Teams are getting in the holiday spirit with a Toy Drive!🧸🎁Bring a toy to their Monday, December 16th game and we will wave your entry fee! The toys will be distributed with the help of our SHS PALs.
Good Evening. The Smithville Junior High Band will have Band Picture Day tomorrow. Students are to wear their Band Shirt and Jeans for the picture. We will take care of 6th graders who haven't bought a shirt yet.
Pictures will be taken during the student's band class period.
Photo ordering information will be provided by the photographer after the photos are taken.

REMINDER! The Student Council Movie Night Fundraiser is this Friday!
The Smithville Tiger Band would like to send out a heart-felt THANK YOU to everyone who supported our Junior High and High School students by purchasing a Holiday Poinsettia this season!
After all is said and done we will have sold 1,000 Poinsettias and raised a little over $7,000 for our music students! These funds go towards our Junior High and High School spring trips, Junior High and High School Band travel expenses, color guard uniforms, props, student meals and scholarships.
Special thanks to Hostyn Hill Greenhouses from La Grange! We anticipated needing 600 plants but needed an extra 400 plants after counting all our orders. With a week's notice Hostyn Hill Greenhouses was able to find the plants we needed AND deliver them to our campuses for pick up!!
Thank you Smithville for showing such great support for our Music Program's Students!
Reminder: Band Poinsettia Pick Up is tomorrow after school at the band halls. If your band student orded poinsettias be sure to pick them up at the band halls!
