Due to the potential for inclement weather, the Trunk or Treat is being moved to the Smithville Rec Center.
It will still be an amazing event for the entire family...we can't wait to see you there!

We continue our Principals Month by recognizing the wonderful Mrs. Amanda Hudspeth, Smithville Junior High Principal!
What is a "Day in the Life" of Mrs. Hudspeth look like??
🌞🐓Each morning begins with arriving on campus and reviewing staff coverage to ensure all classrooms are supported
Check in with staff to see if anyone needs assistance or resources.
🙋♀️During passing periods, you’ll find me in the hallways greeting students.🙋♀️
Visit classrooms to observe the wonderful teaching and learning happening across our campus.
Morning announcements and our daily joke to start the day with a smile. 🤣🤣🤣
Lunch duty, parent meetings, addressing concerns, supporting instruction during Professional Learning Community (PLC) planning, attending administrative meetings, and often cheering on our students at after-school games or events. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
THANK YOU! For everything you do, every day! We see you and we appreciate you!

Our October Lunch & Learn is coming up next Wednesday (10/29) at NOON.
Did you know that teen overdose deaths nearly TRIPLED from 2019-2021??
Join us, during Red Ribbon Week, to discuss drug and fentanyl awareness and learn what you can do to help keep your student safe!

The theme this year is also a reminder: safety doesn’t begin or end with the bus ride. It’s about Safety at Every Stop—from the moment a child leaves their front door to the time they return home.
🛑 Stay alert. - Slow down in school zones and neighborhoods.
🛑 Stop for the bus. - Obey the stop-arm law every time—no exceptions.
🛑 Support accountability. - Technology and enforcement work hand in tandem to change driver behavior.
🛑 Raise awareness. - Share facts, resources, and personal stories that open eyes and change hearts.
Let's all help keep our buses a safe place for our students!

Enjoy the long weekend and we will see you all back on Wednesday, October 15th.

This special week gives us an opportunity to talk about the importance of being drug-free, while also having some fun! Join us October 28th-31st for these fun dress up days!
TUES - "Put Drugs to Sleep" - wear pajamas
WED - "Storm Drugs Out of School" - dress as wacky weather
THURS - "Grow Old Without Drugs" - 6th dress as kid/toddler; 7th dress as adult/parent; 8th dress as elderly person

📌📌September Board Recap📌📌
See the highlights from our September School Board meeting

Each year, during the week that includes September 17, Texas schools honor Celebrate Freedom Week to highlight the values and ideals on which the United States was founded as well as the sacrifices that were made for freedom in the founding of the country.
Students learn about the intent, meaning, and importance of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, and examine the relationship between the ideas in these documents and subsequent American history.

Smithville ISD honors those who lost their lives and the heroes who saved so many on September 11, 2001.
We will always remember...

Important info for those traveling to La Grange for football this week! 🏈🏈
