The book fair is coming to Smithville Junior High! Starting next Monday, students will have the opportunity to purchase books from the book fair during the day, or parents can come shop with them on Thursday, 10/3, for the late shopping day. We will also have the Edible Book Contest that evening. We hope to see you there!


September 23rd is Education Technology Day! On this day we celebrate the technology that helps students to learn better and teachers to teach better. We also recognize our wonderful IT department who keeps all our tech up-and-running! We couldn't get by without you!


Don't forget that tomorrow, September 20th, is a Student Holiday and Staff Workday!

It's Celebrate Freedom Week! During this week, which falls every year during the week surround 9/17 (or Constitution Day) students learn about the intent, meaning, and importance of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.


Have a child with an upcoming birthday? Smithville ISD's Child Nutrition Department is offering a new service where you can order cupcakes, ice cream cups, juice boxes and more to be delivered to your child in their classroom. You can even choose a theme or color scheme!

Junior High Pep Rally Fun!

Congrats to all our Junior High athletes who competed at the Cross Country meet last week. They did a great job!


What a great way for our students to start their day! Being greeted by our cheerleaders, football, and volleyball players. They enjoyed meeting the "famous" big kids!

What a start to the year! We kicked off with a Convocation Tiger Tailgate, hosted by our friends at First National Bank, and ended the week with Freshman Orientation, Junior High Open House, and Meet the Tiger Pep-Rally! It's easy to see it is going to be a great year! We can't wait to see everyone tomorrow!

WE ARE HIRING! Our Food Services Department is looking for someone to hire for the Food Service Distributor position. Duties include:
- Responsible for the delivery of groceries and supplies from campus to campus and concession stand
- Delivery of meals from Central Kitchens to alternative campuses
- Checks in all deliveries at campuses
- Responsible for the management of inventory on a computerized device at multiple campuses
- Minor repairs in kitchens and on commercial equipment
- Scheduled cleaning of equipment
